With an education in the fashion world and concept development, and extensive hands-on experience in the fashion industry, Joachim Rosendahl is a master in production processes from idea to final product. He is deeply grateful for the art of mastering a craft, and all FLORA DANICA scarves are made from the finest silk materials produced by skilled craftsmen who have honed their craft over generations.

Flora Danica's passion is creation and our approach to design is exploratory. We welcome design limitations as a challenge.
Our silk scarves are made from honest materials such as pure silk, inspired by Denmark's flora and fauna. We produce them with the help of skilled craftsmen, whom we both challenge and trust. Our partners are selected for their ability to interpret our way of seeing things, as well as for their heritage within the specific craft. We see the design process as a collaboration between ourselves and the hands that shape our product.
Inspiration for Flora Danica silk scarves is drawn from a wide range of sources, both historical and contemporary, local and global. With an open mind and a keen eye for detail, the brand captures the shapes, colors and textures of nature, people and architecture and filters them through a modern lens to create elegant and unique silk scarves. The brand draws inspiration from early Art Deco, Historicism and Bauhaus minimalism, working with basic yet intricate forms to create functional and beautiful designs. For Flora Danica, the interaction between nature and culture as well as new and old is a central concept, with a focus on minimal expression without compromising on the details that make each piece flourish.
THE COLORS OF NATURE IN OUR COLLECTION
For each design in Flora Danica's silk scarf collections, it is nature and history that make it shine. Composition is central to the collections, and often several designs spring from a single source of inspiration.
The color palette across silk scarves is inspired by nature's seasons, with autumn's earth tones of brown, black, gray and a favorite shade of olive green. The depth of the dark shades gives an emotional weight, but always combined with lighter colors.
Winter brings a sense of peace and tranquility with its arrival, taking inspiration from the fall season's earth tones of brown, black, gray and olive green. These deep hues remind us of the shorter days and longer nights, but the winter palette also includes lighter tones, adding a sense of freshness and calm.
Spring, on the other hand, is a time of rebirth and new beginnings, with a color palette dominated by soft pastels like pink, lavender and baby blue, reminiscent of cherry blossoms and the first crocus pushing up through the thawing soil. These bright colors are bound by earth tones of moss green and warm taupe, creating a sense of stability and grounding that reminds us to appreciate the beauty of the natural world.
